Happy New Year to you all. I hope you celebrated the holidays in good spirits with family and friends. Now that we are a few days into the new year, it’s a good time to look ahead and think about what this year may bring us. But first, a quick look back.

2017 was once again a challenging year with projects starting and stopping, however we finished the year stronger than previously anticipated and that is all thanks to each and every one of you. Our core customers maintained their demands for our service and we landed several large decommission projects to finish strong. We also had many challenges as the labor market grew tighter and we found it harder to differentiate ourselves from our competitors. Having said all that we managed to think outside the box and get the job done and that is because of all of you.

As we look forward, 2018 shows to be a very strong year with activities starting back up in China and tool demands staying strong in the U.S. We have a lot of changes ahead of us in 2018. The biggest being our divestiture from M+W Americas. NSTAR was purchased by M+W Americas in 2010 and for the last seven years NSTAR supported M+W with their service needs in various forms and functions. As M+W Americas focuses on their core strengths we mutually agreed it would be best to divest NSTAR. We are still in the process of working through the transition so nothing will change in Q1 but starting in Q2 NSTAR will be a stand-alone company once again.

On a more somber note Hardev Grewal will be leaving NSTAR. During Hardev’s seven years with NSTAR he has held positions as product development, VP of Operations and recently VP of Business Operations where he was in charge of sales and the operations group. We want to thank Hardev for his hard work and dedication and wish him nothing but the best in his new adventure as CEO/President of a start-up company based closer to home in California.

Jimmy Lyngar will be the new Director of Business Development. Jimmy has been with NSTAR for over six years and has done an excellent job growing the service business in his area. Jimmy has already been providing guidance and assistance and I feel he is the right person to help us grow in 2018 and beyond.

As you can see 2018 brings NSTAR some significant challenges but I’m sure by working together, keeping focused on our priorities, and putting our customers first this will be a very productive year.

Once again I want to thank each and every one of you for your dedication and support. I ask you to keep up the good work and let’s enjoy the new adventure together.
